Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ute Dietrich is a prominent professor at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin, specializing in industrial engineering with a focus on computer science, systems-driven engineering, and automation of systems. She has an extensive background in the industrial application of information technology, including digital twins, digital thread, and assistance systems in product development and production. Before joining HTW Berlin, Prof. Dietrich worked in various capacities at Siemens PLM, focusing on digital factory and lifecycle management. She also contributed to the Bundesdruckerei GmbH in production IT. Her research and teaching areas include smart engineering, edge computing, manufacturing execution systems, data-driven process optimization, collaborative robotics, and the industrial Internet of Things. Prof. Dietrich leads the Digital Factory-Technology Laboratory at HTW Berlin, which is part of the EFRE project "Digital Value."
